FAQs - Tariffs and fees
Shrig Shop is a small company run by passionate people. We do our very best to deliver your order as smoothly as possible. Below you’ll find some useful information. If you have any questions that aren't answered here, please email us at info@shrigleyshop.com.
If you are based outside the EU, it is your responsibility to inform yourself about any tariffs and fees due on your order.
If a package is returned because the import fees were not paid, we deduct outbound and return shipping costs and associated fees before issuing a refund.
United Kingdom
- For orders under €156, you will not be charged import fees.
- For orders above €156, we deduct VAT (20%) at checkout and you are charged both VAT and duties when the goods arrive in the UK.
- These are often a similar amount but can be higher, depending on what you've ordered.
- UPS charge a brokerage fee of £14 to administrate the payment of VAT and duties (applicable to all UK orders above €156).
United States
- Danish VAT of 25% (5% on screenprints and unique works) is deducted at checkout and you may have to pay more or less in import tariffs.
- Posters, cards and books are exempt from tariffs -- if you are charged a tariff on these items, please let us know as soon as you can.
- For other goods made in Europe or the UK, you will be charged a tariff of at least 15% of their value.
- For products made in China, you will be charged a higher tariff, usually 50-100% of the value of the goods.
- Artworks (screenprints, etchings and unique works) are generally taxed at 5%.
- DHL charge a $17 handling fee for any US order that attracts tariffs.
Other non-EU countries
- VAT is deducted at checkout (only on orders over €600 in Australia) and you may be charged VAT and fees on import.
- Check with your local tax office to find out specific import rules.
